Position Overview
The Director of Search Engine Marketing will lead the vision, execution, and continuous improvement of our SEM department. This individual will oversee a team of specialists, drive performance across client accounts, and implement scalable systems that enhance both operational efficiency and client outcomes.

You will play a critical role in aligning paid and organic strategies, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality results. This position requires a balance of strategic leadership, analytical expertise, and hands-on marketing knowledge.
 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Team Oversight

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Google Ads and SEO teams to ensure exceptional performance and accountability
  • Establish and execute department-wide strategies that align with client growth objectives
  • Oversee team workflows to ensure high-quality deliverables and consistent client results

Client Strategy & Performance Management

  • Develop and oversee customized marketing strategies for Google Ads and SEO campaigns
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying opportunities to improve ROI and client outcomes
  • Translate data insights into actionable growth strategies across paid and organic channels
  • Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high satisfaction, retention, and long-term success

Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

  • Design, implement, and refine scalable processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency
  • Oversee and optimize the client onboarding experience, ensuring seamless transitions from onboarding to campaign launch
  • Ensure consistent timelines, communication, and execution across all client engagements

Cross-Platform Integration & Innovation

  • Drive alignment between marketing platforms and client CRM systems to enhance performance tracking and user experience
  • Provide strategic insights into market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging opportunities
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure cohesive execution between paid media, SEO, and broader marketing initiatives

SEO & Content Strategy Oversight

  • Oversee SEO strategy, including keyword research, technical optimization, and content planning
  • Guide content development efforts across blogs and website assets to improve organic visibility
  • Provide recommendations for website optimization across platforms such as WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, and Duda


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 5–7 years of experience in search engine marketing, including both Google Ads and SEO
  • Proven experience managing or leading marketing teams in a performance-driven environment
  • Strong expertise in CMS platforms, including WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, and Duda
  • Proficiency with marketing and analytics tools, such as Google Ads, GA4, GTM, GoHighLevel, SpyFu, and BirdEye
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze campaign performance and translate data into strategic decisions
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in client-facing settings
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving client needs
